3.6 Setting Language, Date, and Unit
English, Japanese, German, French ,Italian, or Spanish can be specified as the language
displayed on the touch panel. Set an appropriate language.
Also, set date and time accurately. The date/time is included in the record of the measure-
ment conditions and is useful for record management.
The unit of roughness measurement on the SJ-301 is factory-set to “mm” or “inch”. Either
unit can be selected.
■ Setting the display language
Turn the SJ-301 power off to set the display language.
1. Turn the [POWER] key on while holding down the [DATA] key on the SJ-301 Display
unit.
The power will be turned on, and the Language Setup window is displayed on the touch
panel.

2. Touch the [Enter] button after touching the Language Selection button in the Language
Setup window.
The message indicating that setup has been complete is displayed.

You can confirm that display contents are in the language selected in the Language Setup
