STATISTICAL PROCESS-
ING OF MEASUREMENTS
For statistical processing of measurements to be performed, specify the number of measure-
ments before starting the measurement job. Statistical processing results can even be dis-
played before the specified number of measurements have been completed.
7.1 Overview of Statistical Processing
The overall flow of statistical processing is shown in the following chart.
: Operation that may not be performed
: Operation that is usually performed
Setting the measurement conditions
Setting the number of measurements
Printing the statistical processing result
Saving the statistical processing result
For example, to perform statistical processing of measurements that has been
stored, this operation recalls the data.
Sets the number of measurements to be performed for statistical processing.
Sets up the objective measurement data range and cell interval for a frequency
distribution.
Sets the GO/NG judgment criteria for the objective roughness of statistical
processing.
The acceptance rate will be calculated according to these criteria.
Performs measurement for the specified number of times.
Displays the frequency histogram of the frequency distribution obtained.
Prints the measurements, statistical result, histogram, and statistical conditions
as required.
Saves statistical data on the memory card, as required.
Performs statistical processing.
Resultant display data items include the mean (x-bar), standard deviation (),
maximum value, minimum value, and acceptance rate.
As with the usual measurement operations, sets up the required measurement
conditions.
Recalling the “statistical data” stored
on the memory card (optional)
Setting the measurement data range and
cell interval to constitute a frequency distribution
Representing the frequency distribution
with a frequency histogram
Setting the GO/NG judgment criteria
for statistical processing
Performing measurement
(as many times as specified)
Displaying the statistical processing result
of the measurements.
The SJ-301 has the capability to statistically process the measurement data
obtained with it. The statistical processing result can be, for instance,
represented as a frequency histogram and printed out.
