MODIFYING THE
MEASUREMENT
CONDITIONS
Measurement conditions must be set up or modified according to the object roughness
parameters, the degree of roughness, the conditions on the measured position, etc.
The SJ-301 is compatible with various national/international surface texture standards
including JIS2001, JIS1994, JIS1982, DIN, ISO, and ANSI.
Referring to Chapter 14, “REFERENCE INFORMATION”, set up the measurement condi-
tions according to the surface texture standard to be complied with.
■ About modifying the measurement conditions
Since measurement condition items to be set according to the surface texture standard are
interrelated, setting a condition item will also determine some other relevant items within the
SJ-301.
Also, if a measurement condition selection option is not permitted, that item will not be
activated even if the corresponding icon/button on the touch panel is touched.
For information about the relationship between the measurement condition items refer to
“■ Relationship between the measurement condition items” described later in this manual.
TIP Measurement conditions can be restored to their previous settings even after modifi-
cation. For more information refer to “■ How to read measurement conditions with
the [CONDITION READ] key” and “● About the [UNDO] function” in section 8.2.2,
“Recalling the measurement conditions”.
