5. MODIFYING THE MEASUREMENT CONDITIONS
5.14 Modifying the Tilt Compensation Specification
The SJ-301 provides the after-measurement setup of tilt compensation for the entire measured
profile, an arbitrary section of a measured profile, or two arbitrary points on a measured
profile, and also allows the tilt compensation function to be disabled.
NOTE Unless otherwise required, usually select the tilt compensation for the entire mea-
sured profile.
■ Description of tilt compensation
To perform tilt compensation for an arbitrary section, enter the P1 and P2 values to determine
a compensation reference section (datum segment). If tilt compensation is performed in this
state, a measured profile is compensated so that the datum segment becomes horizontal.

To perform tilt compensation for two arbitrary sections, enter the P1, P2, P3 and P4 values to
determine compensation reference sections (datum segments). If tilt compensation is per-
formed in this state, a measured profile is compensated so that the two datum segments
become horizontal.
