3. SETTING UP THE SJ-301
3.2.2 Connecting the Drive/Detector unit with the Display unit
IMPORTANT Be sure to connect or disconnect the connecting cables only when the SJ-301 is
turned off or in auto-sleep state.
In setting up the SJ-301, link the Drive/Detector unit to the Display unit with a connecting
cable.
■ Plugging in and unplugging the connecting cable
Plug in and unplug the connecting cable as shown below.

• Plugging in the connecting cable
Aligning the plug with the connector,
hold the portion B firmly and insert
the plug in the connector.
• Unplugging the connecting cable
Holding the portion A, slide it slightly
toward B, then pull out the plug.

IMPORTANT Set the drive unit type to Standard if using the standard drive unit, and be sure to set
the drive unit type to Front Escape if using the Front Escape function type drive unit.
For information about the drive unit setting, refer to “5.12 Setting the Drive Unit”.
NOTE Check the drive unit used and the drive unit settings in the display unit before using
the unit. If there is an error in setting the drive unit, an error message such as
“DRIVE ERROR 1” and “OVERRANGE” may appear, disabling measurement. For
information about the drive unit setting, refer to “5.12 Setting the Drive Unit”.
