14. REFERENCE INFORMATION
14.5.17 Material ratio of the profile, mr[c] (tp= material ratio of the profile)
Ratio (%) of the material length (sum of the lengths of sections made by a line which is
parallel to the mean line and intersects the profile element at a given level) of the profile
elements at a given (slice) level to the evaluation length. Here the slice level is defined as the
depth from the highest profile peak, and is called a “peak reference”. The slice level is
represented by a ratio of the depth (0 to 100%) to the Rt value.

Let a slice line whose mr[c] value falls between 0% and 99% (in 1% increments) be the
reference line *1, and provide more slice lines in constant increments (in micrometers) below
the reference line. mr[c] values at each slice level are referred to as mr values.
