11. MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION OF SJ-301
■ Cleaning the surface of the SJ-301
If the surface of the SJ-301 is soiled, clean it using a soft dry cloth. Do not use organic
solvents such as thinner or benzine.
■ Check the condition of the touch panel protection sheet
Check if the touch panel protection sheet is soiled or warped. If it is in poor condition and
might affect operation, replace it.
TIP For information about mounting the touch panel protection sheet refer to section “3.4,
Applying the Touch Panel Protection Sheet”.
■ Check the condition of the printer paper
Check the amount of the printer paper remaining. If an insufficient amount of paper remains
for the next work, load a new roll.
TIP For information about loading printer paper, refer to section “3.3, Loading Printer
Paper”.
■ Selecting the storage location
Always store the SJ-301 and its accessories in their dedicated cases and in a location that is
dust- and moisture-free.
Select a location that is between -10C and 40C. The life of the battery is greatly affected by
temperature.
NOTE Unless the SJ-301 is not going to be used for an extended period of time (more than
2 or 3 weeks), keep the battery switch on. This allows retention of the last measure-
ment. The measurement will be displayed the next time the power is turned on.
If the battery switch is turned off, the measured results from the last work and other
data, including the measurement conditions stored in internal memory will be lost.
The measurement condition settings will not be lost even if the SJ-301 is turned off
by the auto sleep function.
