Modem Module
This section describes how to setup and use the MDM9000 Modem Module.

Modem Module
The Modem Module enables data communication between the MC9190-G and a host computer, remotely through
the phone lines, and synchronizes information between the MC9190-G and a host computer.
The following items are required for a modem connection:
•
Telephone number, IP address and DNS/WINS address information from the dial-in server administrator
•
Dial-in account on the host system, including a user ID and password
•
RJ11 or RJ12 modem cable
•
Functioning telephone jack that supports plug-in modems connected to the local telephone system
Setup of Country Codes to use the modem with the appropriate country’s telephone network.
The following items are required for communication:

MC9190-G
•
Cable Adapter Module (CAM), Motorola p/n ADP9000-100R (see Cable Adapter Module on page 2-24)
•
Serial Adapter Cable (for communication via cradle), p/n 25-63856-01R
•
Microsoft ActiveSync
•
Setup of host computer and MC9190-G.
STANDBY or Flashing-Yellow The battery was deeply discharged and is being trickle charged to bring the
voltage up to the operating level. After operating level voltage is achieved the
battery charges normally.
FAULT Yellow Charging error, check placement of MC9190-G and spare battery.
CHARGING Yellow Normal charge.
