Operation Limits
The remote transmitter uses a weak
electromagnetic wave. The below condi-
tions can cause interference to the key-
less entry operation.
1. The battery in the remote transmit-
ter is low.
2. Near a strong radio wave source,
for example, near a power station
or broadcast station.
3. When you use the wireless devices,
for example, a mobile phone or
transceiver.
4. The remote transmitter touches
metals.
5. Near other remote controls that
transmits a radio wave.
6. You put the remote transmitter
near any electrical devices, for ex-
ample, computers.
7. You park this vehicle near a meter
of the parking facility.
Operation range to start the engine
The operation range is in the interior of
the vehicle.

If the voltage of the battery of the
remote transmitter is low
When starting the engine, a low battery
voltage in the remote-transmitter can
cause a problem.
If starting the engine in this condition,
follow these procedures:

1. Put the remote transmitter on the
start stop button surface as shown
in the illustration.
2. Press and hold the brake pedal.
3. Press the start stop button to turn
the ignition to the ON position.
4. Press the button again to start the
engine.
The service life of the transmitter
battery
A continued use and extended periods
of operation near source of strong radio
wave can decrease the service life of the
battery in the remote transmitter.
NOTE
(1) If there are strong electromagnetic
waves, the operation range can
decrease.
(2) If the battery of remote transmitter
is weak, the operation range can
decrease.
(3) Placing the remote transmitter on
the instrument panel or in the
glove box, the transmitter may have
a problem in operating.
(4) Placing the remote transmitter near
the door handle or trunk lid
switches, the switches can have a
problem in operation.
If the vehicle system does not operate
when pressing any switch on the remote
transmitter, replace the battery. Refer
to page 126.
If the remote transmitter is missing,
contact an authorised PROTON service
outlet for a replacement.
