The front airbags deploy only in a mod-
erate-to-severe front collision. These
front airbags possibly deploy during
some lower-speed front collisions in
rollovers and also in rear collision. There
is a minimum force-value set for the
airbag to deploy. When the system
senses a front-collision and the sensed
force value is enough, the switches will
close a circuit. This action will start the
ignition of the materials in the inflator
that makes nitrogen gas and deploy the
airbags.
WARNING
(1) Front airbags give protection
to the driver and the front-
passenger in a front collision;
With a moderate-to-severe
force .
Follow all precautions about
the seat belts use and the sit-
ting position. This front airbags
do not give protection in rear
collisions, rollovers, weak-front
collisions and weak-side colli-
sions.
(2) Do not attach any items to the
padded cover of the steering
wheel. These items can cause
injury. These items are trim
material, badges and other
similar materials. If the airbag
deploys, these items can cause
injury to the driver .
(3) Do not or attach any items to
the instrument panel above the
glove box that has an airbag.
If the airbag deploys, these
objects may cause injury to the
passenger.
(4) Do not attach or put any ac-
cessories to or in front of the
windshield. These objects can
cause an interference to the
airbag inflation or cause injury.
(5) After the airbag is inflated,
some airbag system compon-
ents become hot; Do not touch
these components after infla-
tion.
(6) The airbag system only oper-
ates one time. After the
airbags deploy, these airbags
will not operate again. These
airbag must be replaced. Send
this vehicle to an authorised
PROTON service outlet for in-
spection of the complete airbag
system.
(7) If your vehicle had a front colli-
sion before but the airbags did
not deploy, make sure the
airbag system is inspected. Get
a replacement (if necessary) by
an authorised PROTON service
outlet.
