Note: Let the R&S SML / R&S SMV03 warm up for at least 2 hours before starting a measurement.
Test setup Connect test receiver (spectrum analyzer mode) to REF EXT output
on rear panel of R&S SML / R&S SMV03.
Settings on the test receiver - Center frequency = 10 MHz
- S
pan = 20 Hz
- Resolution bandwidth = 10 Hz
Measurement Set marker on peak and read off frequency.
Analysis The frequency deviation must not exceed the sum of the deviations
resulting from the frequency error in the rated temperature range and
from aging.
External reference input
Test setup Connect test receiver (spectrum analyzer mode) to RF connector on
R&S SML / R&S SMV03.
Connect signal generator to REF IN connector on rear panel of R&S
SML / R&S SMV03.
Connect references of test receiver and signal generator
Settings on the test receiver - C
enter frequency = test frequency of R&S SML / R&S SMV03

pan = 100 Hz
- Resolution bandwidth = 10 Hz

- Switch reference oscillator to external

- Frequency = 10 MHz
- Level = 7 dBm
