Configuration Guide WEB Authentication Configuration
successfully apply Ruijie first generation web authentication, you have to configure the SNMP
parameters used between the device and the Portal Server.
By default, the SNMP parameters used between the device and Portal Server are not configured. The
configuration steps are shown below:
Command
Function
Ruijie# configure terminal
Enter the global configuration mode.
Ruijie(config)# snmp-server
community community-string rw
Configure SNMP Community, which will be used by the Portal
Server to manage the online users on the access device.
Community-string: Community string;
rw: as the set operation on MIB is needed, this parameter must
be configured as RW to support read-write access.
Ruijie(config)# snmp-server
enable traps web-auth
The device will send message to the Portal Server when a user is
detected offline. The Trap and Inform notification types of SNMP
protocol will be used.
Web-auth: you are allowed to send web authentication
messages;
Ruijie(config)# snmp-server host
ip-address informs version 2c
community-string web-auth
Configure the destination host sending web authentication
messages: type, version, community and other parameters.
Ip-address: IP address of destination host, namely the IP
address of the first generation Portal Server.
Inform: Configure sending SNMP-Inform messages. Since the
device will send messages to the first generation Portal Server
while the user is offline, to avoid the loss of message, it is
recommended to use SNMP-Inform instead of SNMP-Trap.
Version 2c: Only SNMPv2 and later versions can support the
notification type of SNMP-Inform. Therefore, this parameter
cannot be set as SNMPv1.
Community-string: The community string used for sending
SNMP-Inform messages.
Web-auth: Specify to use the above parameters for sending the
web authentication messages.
Ruijie(config)# show
running-config
View current configuration of the device.
SNMP configuration commands and relevant details are described in “SNMP Configuration”.
Configuration example:
# Set the SNMP communication parameters used between the device and server (IP address being
176.10.0.1): set SNMP Community as web-auth and parameters for sending SNMP-Inform
messages.
Ruijie# configure terminal
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
