Performing sensor teach-in
The maximum level is saved for each individual light beam during sensor teach-in and is
defined as “free light beam”. During sensor teach-in using the pushbutton, there must
be no object between the sender and receiver. During sensor teach-in using a cable or
SOPAS, you must ensure that each light beam is free one time.
A sensor teach-in applies for the current structure, the current distance between sender
and receiver and the current ambient conditions. If one of these points is changed, you
must teach the sensor in again. The sensor teach-in must also be performed after
cleaning of the device or in the event of temperature changes of > ± 15 K.
You can run a sensor teach-in as follows:
•
By connecting a signal to a switching input
•
Directly on the receiver via the Teach pushbutton, see "Performing sensor teach-in",
page 49
•
Via SOPAS ET: see "Setting up MLG-2 (installation assistant)", page 51
•
Via IO-Link
NOTE
Regularly repeating the teach-in is recommended. The smaller the contrasts to be
detected, the more often the teach-in process should be repeated.
