9.2 Install Wiring
Remove all system power before installation. First, disconnect the battery and then
AC.
(To start the power, connect the AC first and then the battery)
1. Wire in accordance with local codes, NEC 760, and Subchapter J of Title 46 of the
Code of Federal Regulations.
2. Determine in the location of knockouts in the sides of the backbox where field
wiring is required.
– Drill a hole of appropriate size at each knockout location.
– Install a compression seal tight fitting (user supplied) at each knockout
location. Refer to the following figure:

3. Pull all field wiring into the backbox. Do not dress the wiring until the location of all the
equipment is known.
4. Install the wiring from the external AC power source to the approximate location of the
power supply. Refer to ‘
Installing Power Supply’
, chapter. Add one ferrite each to the hot,
neutral and ground wires.
