12.3 Guidelines for the FC2080
The following points are to be observed when assembling components, particularly
the module bus cards in the card cages (5 slots):
Overall system
A maximum of 7 card cages (5 slots) can be installed, i.e. 6 card cages (5
slots) can be installed in addition to the card cage (5 slots) on the processor
unit (19", FC2080).
A maximum of 4 card cages (5 slots) can be connected to a module bus.
In total, a maximum of 30 line cards can be used.
In total, a maximum of 10 I/O cards (programmable) can be used.
In total, a maximum of 7 I/O cards (horn/monitored) can be used.
In total, a maximum of 7 I/O cards (remote transmission) can be used.
Card cage (CPU)
A slot is reserved in the card cage (CPU) of the processor unit (19", FC2080)
for a second CPU card (FC2080). This CPU card makes standby operation
for redundant CPU operation possible.
A maximum of 2 module bus or I/O cards can be used in the card cage (CPU)
of the processor unit (19", FC2080).
Card cage (5 slots)
A maximum of one I/O card (horn/monitored) can be used per card cage.
Maximum current per card cage is 8 A.
Power supply, batteries, and module bus
The space available for card cages and devices is reduced accordingly when a
second battery tray (19") is installed with a second carrier (19", power supply).
A maximum of two carriers (19", power supply) FHA2022-A1 can be installed
for each housing (19", pedestal cabinet).
A maximum of two housings (19", pedestal cabinet), positioned directly next to
one another, are permitted in the structure of the FC2080.
If two housings (19", pedestal cabinet) are being used, the two carriers (19",
power supply) along with the associated batteries and module bus cards may
be distributed between them.
When using two housings (19", pedestal cabinet) with card cages distributed
between them, these must be positioned so that the cables supplied with the
card cages (l = 40 cm) can be used for wiring the module bus (this is essential).
Extending the module bus cable is not permitted.
A maximum of 4 card cages may be connected per module bus.
