12.7.3 Calculate the operating current of all consumers
To calculate and distribute the loads, all internal and external consumers must be
taken into account. To enable load distribution to be carried out as simply as
possible, the total currents per card cage must be calculated. To do this, proceed
as follows:
Total values per module bus card (lines, I/Os, horns, etc.)
Total values per card cage (Imax. 8 A)
Total values per power supply group
All components installed in the station are additional internal consumers. All
external consumers that are supplied by the station must also be included in the
current balance. These include:
Fire terminals fed via the station
Consumers that are activated by control outputs
Detector line devices
Operating currents of the consumers
The sum of the operating current values can be calculated as follows:
I
R total
= Σ (no. of consumers * I
R
)
I
A total
= Σ (no. of consumers * I
A
)
I
R
= operating current in quiescent condition [A] (quiescent current)
I
A
= operating current in alarm condition [A] (alarm current)
The operating current of all power consumers can be easily calculated with the
outline quantities tool.
