BRAKE ROD REPLACEMENT
Tools Required:
• 1/2” Combination Wrench
Procedure:
Note
Unless otherwise indicated, refer to Figure 19, page 1-66, for this procedure.
1. Raise the bed to the highest position.
2. Remove the steer wheel hood.
Note
When reinstalling the steer wheel hood, ensure the colored labels affixed to the hood and the brake/steer pedal match.
3. Using a 1/2” combination wrench, remove the two nuts, two shoulder spacers, two washers and two bolts (C1, C2)
holding each end of the brake rod to the locking levers.
4. Remove the defective rod.
5. Reverse the above steps to install the new brake rod.
6. Test the brakes before returning the bed to service.
