LUBRICATION SYSTEM
INSTALLATION
Apply engine oil to a new O-ring [1], and install it to the
oil strainer [2].
Install the oil strainer on the mount case, and tighten
the three bolts [3] securely.
Clean the oil case/mount case mating surfaces and
both sides of a new oil case gasket [1] thoroughly using
a shop towel and degreasing cleaning solvent.
Apply a bead (1.0 - 6.0 mm (0.04 - 0.24 in) thick) of
liquid gasket (ThreeBond
®
#1211 or equivalent) to the
indicated area of the oil case gasket.
• Assemble within 90 minutes after application of the
liquid gasket. If the parts have been left
unassembled for 90 minutes or longer, remove the
old gasket and apply a liquid gasket again.
• Do not fill the oil case with engine oil and do not start
the engine for 15 minutes after assembly.
Install the two dowel pins [1], oil case gasket [2], and
the oil case [3] on the mount case, and loosely tighten
the five bolts (8 x 100 mm) [4] and eleven bolts (8 x 35
mm) [5].
Apply engine oil to a new O-ring [6], and install it on the
oil level pipe [7].
Install the oil level pipe on the mount case, and tighten
the bolt [8] securely.
Install the oil level gauge/dipstick [9].
