6.Liftandsupportthefrontwheelsoffthegroundtoallowowthroughthe
frontwheelmotors.
7.Blocktherearwheelswithchockstopreventwheelrotation.
8.Cleanthetransmissionareaaroundthetractioncircuithosesonthetopof
thetransmission(Figure50).
9.Determinewhichrearwheelmotoristobetested.Disconnectthehydraulic
hosefromthetransmissionpumpoutletttingfortherearwheelmotorto
betested(Figure49orFigure50):

10.Installa40GPMhydraulictester(pressureandow)inseriesbetweenthe
pumpoutletttinganddisconnectedhose.Ensurethatthetesterowarrow
pointsfromthepumpoutletandtowardthehose.Ensurethattheowcontrol
valveonthetesterisfullyopen.
11.Disconnectthebalancinghosefromthetransmissionttingclosesttothe
transmissionpumpoutletttingfortherearwheeltobetested(Fig.Figure
49orFigure50).Installasteelcaponthettingandsteelpluginthe
balancinghose.
12.Starttheengineandrunitatlow-idlespeed(1,400rpm).Checkfor
hydraulic-uidleaksfromtestconnectionsandcorrectbeforecontinuing
thetest.
13.Withtheenginerunning,presstheenginespeedswitchtofullspeed(3,000
rpm)position.Useaphototactomeasuretheenginespeed.
CAUTION
Therearwheelthatyouaretestingwilltrytomovethemachine
forward.
Useextremecautionwhenperformingthetest.
14.Whilesittingintheoperatorseat,andwiththebrakesrmlyappliedtoprevent
therearwheelsfromrotating,slowlypressthetractionpedalintheforward
directionuntilthetesterpressuregaugedisplays6,900kPa(1,000psi).
15.Therearwheelmotorinternalleakageisshownonthetesterowmeter
inL/minute(gallons/minute).
16.ReturnthetractionpedaltotheNEUTRALposition.Releasethebrakes,shut
offtheengine,andrecordthetestresults.Rotatethewheelandtestitagain.
Note:Testingthewheelmotorleakagein3differentwheelpositionswill
givethemostaccuratetestresults.
