11.Ifthehydraulicttingsaretoberemovedfromthewheelmotor,markthe
ttingorientationforassemblypurposes.Removethettingsfromthewheel
motoranddiscardtheO-ringsfromthettings.
InstallingtheRearWheelMotor
IMPORTANT
Becauseoftheinternaldifferencesinthewheelmotors,donot
interchangethewheelmotorsonthemachine(e.g.,donotputthe
rightmotorontheleftsideofthemachine).Ifnecessary,usethe
PartsCatalogandPartNumberonthewheelmotortoidentifythe
rightandleftmotors,thereisalsoayellowdotontheleftmotor.
1.Ifthehydraulicttingswereremovedfromthewheelmotor,lubricateand
installnewO-ringstothettings.Installthettingsintothewheelmotor
ports;refertoInstallingtheHydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThreadO-Ring
FittingintotheComponentPort)(page4–9).Ensurethatthettingsare
orientatedcorrectly(Figure65).
2.Cleanthethreadsinthesteeringforkandontheboltsthatsecurethewheel
motortothemachine.
3.Positiontherearwheelmotortothesteeringforkwithportsfacingforward.
4.ApplytheLoctite#271(orequivalent)tothethreadsofthebolts.Securethe
rearwheelmotortothesteeringforkwiththe4bolts;torquetheboltsto128
to157N∙m(94to116ft-lb).
IMPORTANT
Beforeinstallingthewheelhub,cleanthetapersofwheelhuband
wheelmotorshaft.Ensurethatthetapersarefreeofgrease,oil,
rust,anddirt.Donotuseanti-seizelubricantwheninstallingthe
wheelhub.
5.Removethecapsorplugsfromthehydraulictubesandwheelttings.
6.Connectthehydraulictubestothewheelmotorttings;refertoInstallingthe
HydraulicHoseandTube(O-RingFaceSealFitting)(page4–8).
7.Installthebrakeassembly(item20inFigure64),wheelhub,brakedrum,
andrearwheelassemblytothemachine;refertoServicingtheBrake(page
6–15).
8.Lowerthemachinetotheground.
