6.TurnthekeyswitchtotheRUNposition(donotstarttheengine)andcheck
theLEDonthecableendoftheparkingbrakesensor.TheLEDshouldbe
illuminatedwhentheparkingbrakeisnotset(thebrakelatchisnotengaged).
7.WiththekeyswitchstillintheRUNposition(donotstarttheengine),setthe
parkingbrake(thebrakelatchengaged)andchecktheLEDonthecableend
oftheparkingbrakesensor.TheLEDshouldnotbeilluminatedwhenthe
parkingbrakeisset(thebrakelatchengaged).
8.IfthebrakesensorLEDdidnotfunctioncorrectly,dothefollowing:
A.Ensurethattheparkingbrakesensorisproperlyadjusted;referto
AdjustingtheParkingBrakeSensor(page5–46).Ifnecessary,adjustthe
sensorandreturntostep6.
B.EnsurethatthekeyswitchisintheOFFpositionanddisconnectthe
parkingbrakesensorconnectorfromthemachinewireharness.
C.Useamultimeter,checkthatthemachinewireharnessconnector
terminalfortheblackwireisclosed(continuity)totheground.
D.TurnthekeyswitchtotheRUNposition(donotstarttheengine)and
checkwithamultimeterthatthemachinewireharnessconnectorterminal
forpinkwirehassystemvoltage(12VDC)present.
E.Iftheblackwireisclosedtotheground,thepinkwirehassystemvoltage
present,andthesensorLEDdidnotfunction,replacetheparkingbrake
sensor.Adjustthesensorafterinstallation;refertoAdjustingtheParking
BrakeSensor(page5–46).
9.Afteryoucompletethebrakesensortesting,ensurethatthesensor
connectorispluggedintothemachinewireharness.
