5.Loosenthenutthatsecuresthedrivebeltidlerpulley,andremovethedrive
belt.
6.Disconnectthecompressorelectricalconnectorfromthemachinewire
harness.
7.ReadtheGeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingtheAir
ConditioningSystemComponents(page8–4).
CAUTION
Looseninganyairconditioningsystemttingorcomponentallows
thepressurizedrefrigeranttoescape,causingpossibleinjury.
Donotloosenanysystemttingorcomponentuntilacertiedair
conditioningservicetechniciandischargesthesystemcompletely.
8.Haveacertiedairconditioningservicetechnicianevacuatetherefrigerant
fromtheairconditioningsystem.
9.Labelandremovethehosesfromthecompressor.Immediatelyinstallthe
capsonthehosesandttingstopreventmoistureandcontaminantsfrom
enteringintothesystem.
10.Supportthecompressortopreventitfromshiftingorfalling.
Note:Theremaybeshims(item20inFigure319)mountedbetweenthe
compressormountingangesandcompressorbracket.Whenyouremove
thecompressor,notethelocationandquantityoftheshimforassembly
purposes.
11.Notetheorientationofthecompressorforassemblypurposes.Removethe
2screws(item18inFigure319)and2locknutsthatsecurethecompressor
tothecompressorbracket.
IMPORTANT
Topreventthecompressoroilfromllingthecompressorcylinders,
keepthecompressorinthesameorientationasitwasintheinstalled
position.
12.Carefullyremovethecompressorfromtheengineandmachine.
Note:Replacetheairconditioningdrier-receiverwheneveryouserviceor
replacetheairconditioningcompressor.
