RemovingtheMixingBoxAssembly
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,shutoffthe
engine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Removetheroofpanelfromthetopofthecabtogetaccesstothemixing
boxassembly;refertoRemovingtheRoofAssembly(page8–10).
3.Removethecoverfromthemixingboxassemblyasfollows:
A.Carefullyuseasmallprybartoraisetheheadofthepininthecenterof
eachrivetthatsecuresthemixingboxcover.
B.Lifttherivetsfromthecoverandmixingbox.
C.Removethemixingboxcover.
Note:Iftheheatercore,airconditioningevaporatorcore,orblowerfanneed
toberemovedfromthemixingbox,theboxdoesnothavetoberemoved
fromthecabheadliner.RefertoHeaterandAirConditioningEvaporator
Cores(page8–24)orBlowerFan(page8–27)forinformationonremoving
andinstallingthesecomponents.
4.Disconnecttheelectricalconnectorsfromthemixingboxwireharnessand
binaryswitchonthedrier-receiver.
5.ReadtheGeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingtheAir
ConditioningSystemComponents(page8–4).Ensurethattheseinstructions
arefollowedifanyairconditioninghosesareloosenedorifanyair
conditioningcomponentsaretoberemovedfromthecabheadliner.
CAUTION
Looseninganyairconditioningsystemttingorcomponentallows
thepressurizedrefrigeranttoescape,causingpossibleinjury.
Donotloosenanysystemttingorcomponentuntilacertiedair
conditioningservicetechniciandischargesthesystemcompletely.
6.RemovethemixingboxcomponentsasshowninFigure329andFigure330.
Note:Replacetheairconditioningdrier-receiverwheneveryoureplacethe
expansionvalve.
