Quick Start: Setup
The following is an outline of the basic steps required to setup the TM-500 for operation.
More detailed instructions follow in the next section of this chapter.
Caution: Users should always wear protective eye wear when operat-
ing or maintaining the TM-500.
1. Power up.
• Power up the machine. Press Reset. Close all doors.
2. Activate the HMI.
• Double-click the TM-500 HMI icon on the monitor.
• Login to the Super User Level
3. Home the motors.
• Open the System Menu and select Home Motors.
4. Setup Input.
• Ensure the correct Input Module is installed, connected and turned on.
Note: If a module needs to be installed, power off the TM-500 before installation.
• Ensure the correct Tooling for the part size to be processed is installed.
• Load components into the Input Module.
• Adjust HMI Input settings.
5. Setup Output.
• For Taper Output:
• Ensure Track is setup for correct tape type (paper/embossed)
• Load Carrier Tape, Cover Tape and an empty Take-up Reel.
• Adjust Sealer settings to ensure a good seal.
• Activate Cutter (optional)
• For Tray Output:
• Load an empty tray in the output position.
• Adjust HMI Output settings.
