Theory of Operation
Operational Overview
The Phaser 6121MFP is a full-color laser printer that utilizes electrophotographic
recording principals to place a full color image onto the print media. The system
contains a drum and developing unit that places the toner image of each color
onto print media producing full-color prints.
Print Process
The following illustration shows the Phaser 6121 print cycle.
The Phaser 6121 print process consists of these steps:
1. Exposure
The surface of the Drum is irradiated with the laser light and an electrostatic
latent image is formed.
2. Developing
The toner, negatively charged, is attracted onto the electrostatic latent image
formed on the surface of the Drum.
