Theory of Operation
Scan from Platen
The Scanner performs these steps during a scan of an original placed on the
platen.
• The exposure unit moves from the home position (stand-by position) reading
the calibration sheet to make a shading compensation.
• The exposure units moves to the stand-by position.
• Original image reading starts from the start position of original reading.
• When the original reading completes, it moves to scanner stop position.
• After the reading completes, the exposure lamp lights OFF and it moves to the
stand-by position.
• It moves again to detect the reference position.
• It moves to the stand-by position and stops there.
