6253 DC Voltage Current Source/Monitor Operation Manual
4.2.8 Source and Measurement Timing
4-52
(Example) Output response: Fast, Vs: 2 V, IL: 3 mA and resistance: 10 k
IL = 3 mA DIL = 30000 d
Ts = 80 + 100 (Vs 3000 / DIL)
Ts = 80 + 100 (2 V 3000 / 30000 d) = 100 s
From the above, set as Td > 100 s.
3. Current source
The settling time (Ts) of the 6253 is defined by the current source value (Is), the current sense
resistance (Rs), the load voltage (VRL = Is × RL), and the output response (Fast/Slow), as shown
below.
Set the measurement delay (Td) to Ts or over.
(Example) Output response: Slow, 3 mA range, Is: 1 mA and resistance: 1 k
Is = 1 mA
VRL = 1 mA 1 k = 1 V
Ts = 100 + (80 VRL) / (Is Rs)
Ts = 100 + (80 1 V) / (1 mA 220) = 463.6 s
From the above, set as Td > 464 s.
