Error Situations
The CE-bound inter-working function (IWF) uses the sequence numbers in the control word to
detect lost and incorrectly ordered packets. Incorrectly ordered packets that cannot be re-ordered
are discarded.
For unstructured CES, the payload of received packets with the L bit set is replaced with an all-
ones pattern. For structured CES, the payload of received packets with the L bit set is replaced
with an all-ones or a user-configurable bit pattern. This is configured using the idle-payload-fill
command. For structured CES with CAS, the signaling bits are replaced with an all-ones or a user-
configurable bit pattern. This is configured using the idle-signal-fill command. Refer to the 7210
SAS Interface Configuration Guide for more information. All circuit emulation services can have
a status of up, loss of packets (LOP) or admin down, and any jitter buffer overruns or under runs
are logged.
