1.1 Introduction
The Mobile Patient Bed is a patient support system used with the CATALYS® Precision Laser
System for Laser Cataract Surgery. It is designed for installation and use inside a sterile operating
room or in a non-sterile pre-op area within an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) or a hospital. The
Mobile Patient Bed can be located next to and wirelessly connected to the CATALYS® System to
position a patient for Laser Cataract Surgery.
When connected to the CATALYS® System, the Mobile Patient Bed is a fully integrated
subsystem. When not connected to the CATALYS® System, the Mobile Patient Bed can be used
to transport patients to and from operating rooms.
The Mobile Patient Bed is equipped with an on-board battery that is charged from an external
AC power source.
