2.5 Positioning the Bed Next to the CATALYS® System
The Mobile Patient Bed should be placed next to the CATALYS® System to accommodate the
following three bed positions:
Patient load position–The bed is rotated approximately 50° out from under the CATALYS®
System. This position allows for patient loading and unloading and provides clearance for
the bed to be in the upright seated or flat position.
LIQUID OPTICS™ Interface installation position–The bed is rotated approximately 19° out
from under the CATALYS® System. This position allows the physician convenient access to
the treatment eye for LIQUID OPTICS™ Interface installation.
Patient treatment positionThe bed is rotated to the 0° position under the CATALYS®
System with the patient treatment eye located directly under the laser aperture. This
position allows the physician to dock the patient to the CATALYS® System and perform
Cataract Laser Surgery.
