Part Number: 0160-6411, Rev A, 02/2019 Page 255 of 314
Software Release: cOS 5.00
Adjusting the X-Y Position
After the Mobile Patient Bed is connected to the CATALYS® System, the bed can be adjusted
laterally (in the X axis) and superiorly/inferiorly (in the Y axis) using the joystick control. The bed
is adjustable ±2 inches from the home (X-Y center) position.
To move the bed laterally, move the joystick left or right. To move the bed superiorly/inferiorly,
move the joystick fore/aft.
Returning to the Home Position
To return the Mobile Patient Bed to the home (X-Y center) position, press and hold the
(home) button on the control pendant until the bed stops moving.
NOTE
When the Mobile Patient Bed is in the home position, the button illuminates. The bed must
be in the home position before activating pivot lock mode.
2.3 Locking/Unlocking the Casters
The Mobile Patient Bed casters are equipped with directional locks and wheel locks. When the
directional locks are applied, the swivel mechanism is disabled. When the wheel locks are
applied, the rolling mechanism is disabled. The casters can be electronically locked/unlocked
using the control pendant, the auxiliary lock buttons on the patient backrest and footrest, or the
foot pedals on either side of the bed. The casters can be manually unlocked, if necessary, using
the knob on the face of each caster.
There are three caster lock modes:
Directional lock modelocks the swivel mechanism on the two casters at the front
(patient foot) or back (patient head) of the Mobile Patient Bed to provide for directional
stability during bed transport
Pivot lock mode—locks the rolling mechanism on the patient right caster at the front of
the bed while the swivel mechanism remains unlocked, allowing the bed to be rotated
under the CATALYS® System (the swivel and rolling mechanisms on the other three
casters remain unlocked)
Caster lock mode—simultaneously locks both the rolling and swivel mechanisms on all
four casters to immobilize the bed
