Joystick Control
The joystick control is only enabled when the Mobile Patient Bed is wirelessly connected to the
CATALYS® System. The joystick is a proportional controller—moving the joystick a small amount
causes the bed to move slowly; moving the joystick a large amount causes the bed to move
faster; holding the joystick at its maximum travel limit provides the maximum bed speed. The
available bed speed is reduced as the suction ring enters the Capture Zone.
The joystick controls the bed position in three axes:
• Moving the joystick left or right moves the bed laterally (in the X axis)
• Moving the joystick fore or aft moves the bed superiorly or inferiorly (in the Y axis)
• Rotating the joystick clockwise moves the bed upward (in the Z axis)
• Rotating the joystick counter-clockwise moves the bed downward (in the Z axis)

NOTE
Once the suction ring is captured to the system, the joystick is disabled. The joystick is also
disabled when the Mobile Patient Bed is not wirelessly connected to the CATALYS® System.
Auxiliary Lock Buttons
There are four auxiliary lock buttons: two on the backrest and two on the footrest. The button
on the patient right side of the backrest activates caster lock mode, and the button on the
patient left side of the backrest activates directional lock mode for the front casters. The button
on the patient left side of the footrest activates caster lock mode, and the button on the patient
right side of the footrest activates directional lock mode for the back casters.
