5.3 Administration
5.3.1 Managing Users
You can change the phone’s login user name and password. This is the login required to
access the Web interface and the Administration menu in the phone’s screen.
Note:
• For the Administrator account, the default 'Username' and 'Password' is admin and
1234 respectively. It’s advisable for the network administrator to change it to
prevent unauthorized access.
• For the User account, the default 'Username' and 'Password' is user and 1234
respectively.
To change the login username and password:
• Use the tables below as reference.

Parameter Description
Note: To add a value to these parameters, enter system/ followed by the parameter name, equal
sign and then the value (e.g.
).
system/user_name
The phone user name. The default value is admin. If this parameter value
is unconfigured in the configuration file, users can log in to the Web
interface using the same Microsoft password/PIN they used to sign in to
the IP phone (to maintain backward compatibility).
Note: This parameter is applicable only to the Web and Telnet interfaces.
system/password
The encrypted phone password. The default value is 1234. If this
parameter value is unconfigured in the configuration file, users can log in
to the Web interface using the same Microsoft password/PIN they used to
sign in to the IP phone (to maintain backward compatibility).
To generate an encrypted password, see Section 3.5.
Note: This parameter applies to the Web and Telnet interfaces, and to
the screen display.

Parameter Description
system/web_user_name
The phone user name. Default: user.
Applies only to Web and Telnet interfaces.
system/web_user_password
The encrypted phone password. Default: 1234.
Applies only to Web and Telnet interfaces, and phone screen.
It’s advisable for the network administrator to change the
default to prevent unauthorized access.
