85-10-15 Removal of the optional Gearbox Oil Cooler
1. Remove the gearbox refer to chapter 85-10-13.
2. Remove the screws [05] and the washers [04].
3. Remove the oil cooler [01] with the O-Rings carefully from the gearbox [06].
4. Remove the O-Rings [02] and [03].
85-10-16 Installation of the optional Gearbox Oil Cooler
1. Clean the sealing surfaces at the gearbox [06] where the oil cooler will be installed.
2. Grease the O-Rings [03] with rubber grease. Use only new O-Rings.
3. Grease the O-Rings [02] with engine oil refer to Operation Manual E4-01-01 for
approved engine oils. Use only new O-Rings.
4. Put the O-Rings [02] and [03] on the correct position at the oil cooler.
5. Put the oil cooler [01] onto the gearbox.
6. Apply threadlocker (Loctite 243) on the four M6 cylinder head screws [05] and screw
down the oil cooler with the screws and the washers [04].
When using Loctite, make sure, that the thread is free of grease and apply only a thin film of
Loctite.
7. Torque the screws with 7 Nm.
Check for the correct installation of the hoses for the engine coolant systems.
8. Install the gearbox refer to chapter 85-10-14.
9. Perform an engine ground run according to Chapter 71-00-03.
10. After the ground run inspect gearbox oil system and coolant system for leakage.
