ï‚· All screws, except cylinder head screws and expansion bolts of the injectors
85-30-42 Removal of parts attached to the cylinder head
1. Remove the injector cover – refer to Chapter 85-00-11
2. Remove the oil return line from the oil separator – refer to Chapter 79-00-91
3. Remove the wiring harness – refer to Chapter 71-50-190 – disconnect the affected sensors.
4. Remove the lubricant line – refer to Chapter 79-00-101.
5. Remove the sealing ring of the lubricant line – refer to Chapter 79-00-103.
6. Remove the oil return line – refer to Chapter 79-00-111
7. Remove the gasket of the oil return line – refer to Chapter 79-00-113.
8. Remove the exhaust manifold – refer to Chapter 78-00-11
Only remove turbo charger from the exhaust manifold if necessary according to Schedule
Maintenance Table Chapter 05-30-00.
9. Drain the coolant - refer to applicable Aircraft Maintenance Manual.
10. Remove the intake air manifold – refer to Chapter 85-30-11 – DO NOT remove the sensors as
described within Chapter 85-30-11.
Ensure that no coolant flows into the cylinders.
11. Remove the high pressure pump (HPP) – refer to Chapter 73-00-41.
Cover all openings of the high pressure pump.
12. Remove the common rail – refer to Chapter 73-00-61 (same procedure as removal of the rail
pressure sensor).
13. Remove the injectors – refer to Chapter 73-00-11.
14. Remove the glow plugs – refer to Chapter 80-00-21.
