6.4.5.17 Operation 64. Replacing filter of filter cartridge of fine fuel filter
If your tractor’s engine is equipped with a demountable fine fuel filter, replace the fil-
ter cartridge of the fine fuel filter by doing the following:
- shut off two cocks (Figure 2.23.1) of fuel tanks;
- drain fuel from the filter by unscrewing plug 4 (Figure 6.4.56) in the lower part of
the body. Prevent fuel spillage, and drain fuel only into a special container;
- unscrew the nuts retaining cover 1 and remove the cover;
- take filter cartridge 2 out of body 3;
- rinse the inner cavity of fuel body 3 with diesel fuel;
- assemble the filter with the new filter cartridge;
- fill the filter body with fuel;
- install cover 1 and fastening nuts;
- remove air from the fuel supply system.

To remove air from the fuel supply system of an engine with a demountable fine fuel
filter, open the cocks of fuel tanks, unscrew plug 3 (Figure 6.4.57) on the fuel pump body
(the location of air bleed plug is different on fuel pumps of different types), and unscrew by
1-2 revolutions fitting 1 on fine fuel filter. Bleed the system with the help of a booster
pump 2, while closing, one after the other, as the fuel appears, plug 3 on fuel pump body
and then fitting 1 on fine fuel filter.
