Alphabetic and command keys
The standard key section of the PC keyboard provided with your
printing system has both alphabetic character keys and command keys.
Note: Blank keys in Figure 3-3 are not operational in this system.
Grayed out keys are system function keys, described in System
function keys on page 3-5.

Key Description
Alphabetic
characters
Enters lowercase character text for labels and to enter
information in entry screens. Press alphabetic
character keys in combination with the <Shift> key to
produce uppercase characters.
Numeric
characters
Enters numbers. Press numeric character keys in
combination with the <Shift> key to produce symbols
shown on the key face. (Alternatively, you can type
numbers by pressing <Num Lock> on the numeric
keypad and use the numeric keypad numbers. See
Numeric keypad on page 3-14 for information.)
Note: This procedure may differ outside North America.
