Inspect the manual release valve. Discard the O-
rings on the housing.
Oil O-rings and install them on the manual release
valve. Oil and install the manual release valve.
Tighten the valve to a torque of 45 to 55 in. lbs. (5
to 6 N·m).
Install new retaining ring in groove.
Piston Seal and End Cap
Trim and Tilt Seal Tool Kit, P/N 5008918, is
required for service of the piston and end cap
assemblies.
Removal
Refer to Removal on p. 299 for trim and tilt
assembly removal procedure.
Disassembly
Place the trim and tilt assembly in a holding fix-
ture. Be sure the rod is fully extended. Remove
the fill plug.
Drain trim and tilt fluid from the trim and tilt assem-
bly.
