IO-LinkisaworldwidestandardisedIOtechnology(IEC61131-9)forcommunicatingwithsensorsandactuators.
IO-Link is a point-to-point communication system with 3- or 5-conductor connection technology for sensors
and actuators and unshielded standard sensor lines.
ControlheadType8681(IO-Linkdesign)isavailablein2variants:
•Port class A: withasharedpowersupply(Power1)forsupplyofthesystemandactuators(solenoid
valves)or
•Port class B:
withpowersupply(Power1)forthesystemsupplyandPower2forseparatesupplyofthe
actuators(solenoidvalves),whichallowsforasafetyshutdownofthesolenoidvalvesonly.

Since no voltage is transferred via this interface, the control head must also be supplied with voltage, for
example via the IO-Link port.
