14.2 Quickstart for Type 8681 IO-Link
Network layout:
IO-Link devices are connected with standard commercial IO-Link masters and can easily be integrated into
allcommonlyusedeldbusandautomationsystems.
The network is structured similarly to the diagram in “Fig.34”.
3-pin or 5-pin unshielded standard cables 20 m in length between the IO-Link device and IO-Link master
aresucientforconnectingIO-LinkdeviceswithIO-Linkmasters.
TheIO-LinkcontrolheadsareeitherequippedwithM12connectors(variantwithmulti-poleplug)orcanbe
wiredthemselves(variantwithcablegland).Fordetailssee“14.5”.
Conguration:
Thenetworkisconguredbythehigher-levelcontroller.
To ensure clear communication, IO-Link devices should not be parametrised simultaneously by the higher-
levelcontroller(PLC)viatheIO-LinkmasterandwiththeBürkertCommunicator(viatheserviceinterface).
