büS/CAN open-Design
NOTE 3: Special characteristics for the DIP switch setting dierent to DIP1 to DIP6 “000000”,
i.e. hardware congured Node ID
•Bus mode büS (bueS) or CANopen:
ThebehaviourwiththisDIPswitchsettingdependsonthebusmode(büS(bueS)orCANopen).
The factory setting is büS (bueS). The bus mode can be changed by software only - see chapter
“15.20.4Accesstofurtherparameters(cyclicandacyclic)”onpage117.
•Device addressing using DIP switches in the:
büS (bueS) mode: The parameter “Fixed CANopen address
”
(“StaticNodeID”)isautomatically
updated to the address value currently set via DIP switches when a restart
occurs.
Theparameter“FixedCANopenaddress”(“StaticNode-ID”)isautomatically
updated to the address value currently set via DIP switches after a restart.
In this mode, the device is prepared at the factory for the use with a precon-
guredgateway,i.e.theinputconnectionforcontrollingthesolenoidvalves
hasalreadybeencongured.

CANopen mode: The device address (Node ID) is used which is set via DIP switches.

conguration
Factory settings:
Busmode: “büS”,
Addressing: softwarecongurableNodeID
(i.e.DIP1 to DIP6 = 000000)-seedetailsinNOTEbox2above.

Changing the DIP switches to a value > 000000 and then restarting the device will overwrite any changes
madeviatheBürkertCommunicatorwithvaluesaccordingtothepreset“presettingrule”.Thispresettingrule
isdenedbytheparameter“presetting rule” (“Use Special Sensor Index”) whichcanbefoundintheBürkert
Communicator under: Control Head / General Settings / Parameters / büS mapping.
When returning to the factory default setting (with xed device address), after changing the presetting:
- ensure that the parameter “presetting rule”
issetto“1”
- note the previous DIP switches position
- set DIP1 to DIP6 to factory default setting 000000, then restart the device
- set DIP1 to DIP6 to the noted DIP switches position, then restart the device again.
