5.6.1 Common Command Syntax
Commands are defined by IEEE488.2 standard containing common and query commands.
Common commands begin with a “*” and consist of three letters and/or one “?” (query).
Common commands and queries are listed alphabetically.
*CLS Clear Status
Type: Device status
Description: *CLS command acts the follows:
Clear Error Code Reset Error Message. If “*CLS” is followed by <nl>, the
“output queue” and MAV bit will be clear as well.
Syntax: *CLS
Parameter: None
*ESE Standard Event Status Enable
Type: Device status
Description: This command sets the condition of the Standard Event Status Enable
register, which determines which events of the Standard Event Status
Event register (see *ESR?) are allowed to set the ESB (Event Summary
Bit) of the Status Byte register. A "1" in the bit position enables the
corresponding event. All of enable events of the Standard Event Status
Event register are logically ORed to cause the ESB (bit 5) of the Status
Byte register to be set.
Syntax: *ESE <NRf>
