Forwarding
 — Indicates that the port is in Forwarding mode. The port 
can forward traffic and learn new MAC addresses.
• Designated Cost — Indicates that the default path cost is assigned according 
to the method selected on the Spanning Tree Global Settings page.
• Designated Bridge ID — Indicates the bridge ID number that connects the link 
or shared LAN to the root.
• Designated Port ID — Indicates the Port ID number on the designated bridge 
that connects the link or the shared LAN to the root.
• Remain Hops — Indicates the hops remaining to the next destination.
STEP 3 Define the relevant fields.
STEP 4 Click Apply. The MSTP Interface configuration is defined, and the device is 
updated.
