Defining SNMP Users
The
SNMP Users Page
provides information for creating SNMP users, and
assigning SNMP access control privileges to SNMP users. Groups allow network
managers to assign access rights to specific device features, or feature aspects.
STEP 1 Click Monitor & Device Properties > SNMP > Security > Users. The
SNMP
Users Page
opens:
SNMP Users Page
The
SNMP Users Page
contains the following fields.
User Name — Displays the user-defined user name to which access control
rules are applied. The field range is up to 30 characters.
Group Name — User-defined SNMP group to which the SNMP user belongs.
SNMP groups are defined in the
SNMP Group Profile Page
.
NOTE Users can only be added to groups that have been provisioned with
SNMPv3.
Engine ID — Indicates the local/remote device engine ID.
