Chapter 3: Operation
CAUTION: The probe must be well-seated in the hole when digitizing all
compensation points. Even one or two poorly digitized points significantly
affects the optimization process, which then has an effect on the accuracy of
the Quantum.
6. Digitize points in the compensation
cone and sweep to position #3.
• Press and hold the green Front
button and move the handle down
until the shaft of the probe is
parallel with the top of the cone.
NOTE: You must digitize at least 150
points.
NOTE: Seven-axis Quantums have an additional position. Rotate the
handle.
7. Digitize points in the compensation
cone and rotate the handle.
• Press and hold the green Front
button and rotate the handle.
NOTE: You must digitize at least 50
points in this position.
8. Press the red Back button to finish.
