About Versiv and Versiv 2 Update Files
Software update files have these extensions:
• Versiv testers: .cic
• Versiv 2 testers: .ci2
The update files are not interchangeable. LinkWare PC and
LinkWare Live let you install only the correct file in your Versiv or
Versiv 2 tester.
Use a PC to Update the Software

To prevent unexpected loss of power, connect the
ac adapter to the tester when you update the
software.
Note
The software update procedure does not delete
the test records, project settings, or user
preferences in the tester, but can possibly change
the factory-installed cable types or test limits.
1 Install the latest version of LinkWare PC software on your PC.
LinkWare PC is available on the website.
2 Connect the AC adapter to the tester and connect the Micro
USB port on the tester to a type A USB port on the PC. See
Figure 130.
3 LinkWare PC automatically tells you if new software for the
tester is available on the website, and lets you install the
software.
