5-6-5 Rechargeable Battery Pack Assy (GPA)
The lithium ion rechargeable battery provides a backup mechanism to the Vivid i n or Vivid q N system
whenever an AC power source is not available. The battery module is supplied with a lithium ion
rechargeable battery pack (GPA) installed in the battery bay, as standard.
The Vivid i n/ Vivid q N scanner has built-in charger functionality (see Figure 5-23 on page 5-31) and
switches automatically from battery operation to AC operation and vice versa.
When shutting down the system, leave the main power cable connected to keep the battery fully charged.
NOTE: The lithium ion technology used in the system's battery is significantly less hazardous to the
environment than the lithium metal technology used in some other batteries.
NOTE: The battery is designed to be replaced every 2 years.
CAUTION: The battery is designed to work with Vivid i n or Vivid q N systems only. Only use the
batteries authorized by GE Healthcare.
WARNING: Used batteries should not be placed with common household waste products. Contact your
local authority for the location of a chemical waste collection program nearest to you.
