8-5-10 Software Roll-back Procedure
In the event that it is necessary to save and restore the Operating System and Application Software,
use the software roll-back (Re-ghost) tool provided, as described in the procedure in Table 8-7.
NOTE: Using the Rollback tool requires the Software Installation CD. Always keep this near the scanner.
Table 8-7 Software Roll-back Procedure
Step Instruction Expected Result
1 Eject the battery and remove all peripherals currently
connected to the system, with the following exceptions:
Make sure no peripherals are connected to the USB
connectors except the DVD and the PCMCIA.
2 Press the <Eject> button of the DVD\CD-RW drive and
remove any media if present.
The DVD\CD-RW drive tray ejects.
3 Insert the CD provided with the software kit, and press
the <Eject> button again.
The DVD\CD-RW drive tray will load the software CD.
4 Hold down the <ON/OFF> button for 5 seconds to
shutdown the system.
The shutdown options are displayed on-screen.
5 Select Full Shutdown. The system powers down.
6 Hold down the <ON/OFF> button for three seconds. The system powers ON and when system boot-up from the CD is complete, the
following message is displayed prompting you to select the required option:
7 Select option B.
Service Tools
The user is prompted for a password.
8 When prompted, type the following password:
geulsservice and press <Enter>.
Note: when typing the password, use lower-case letters.
Wait until the following message is displayed, prompting you to select the
required Tools option:
