8 Initiate a patient test to conrm that the Operator ID and/or Patient ID displayed on the instrument
screen contain the appropriate barcode parsing.
NOTE: To edit or delete a barcode setting, select the Identier from the list (Figure 92) and the appropriate
button (Edit or Delete).
Example of Barcode Parsing:
1 On the instrument, select (Settings) > Supervisor Settings > Barcode Scanner Test.
2 When the dialog box is displayed, select Scan and then scan the Patient ID barcode label.
3 Information provided by Barcode Scanner Test:
● Barcode String: WX-123456|YY
● Barcode Type: Code 39

4 The barcode string (WX-123456|YY) displayed in the dialog box (

) does not match the
human-readable information (123456) on the barcode label.
5 In the Barcode Settings dialog box (
Figure 92 (page 90)
) on CCM, select New. The Adding New
Barcode Settings dialog box is displayed.
6 Enter the following information:
● Select Patient ID in the Identier drop-down list.
● Select Code 39 in the Barcode Type drop-down list.
● Manually enter -| into the Group Delimiter Character text eld to separate WX-123456|YY
into 3 groups:
1 2 3
WX 123456 YY
● Enter 2 into the Group Position text eld to identify 123456 as the Patient ID.
● Disable the Check Digit validation.
7 Click OK. The information is added to the Barcode Settings dialog box (
Figure 92 (page 90)
).
8 Click OK again to save the changes and return to the Home screen.
9 Send the conguration data to the instrument. For more information, see
“Send Conguration Data to
Instruments” (page 95)
.
10 Initiate a patient test to conrm that the Patient ID displayed on the instrument screen contains the
appropriate barcode parsing.
