APL Floating-Point
The APL floating-point data format
is
a method

is
always 8 bytes long. The format
of
the 8 bytes is:

o
o

6-10
Bit
o
1-7
Description
Indicates the sign
of
the
arith-

If
bit 0

number
is
positive; if
bit

is
on,

is
negative.

the

to move the hexadecimal point
and how far.

If
the value specified
in
bits 1-7
